Data Source Privileges

Use the Data Source tab page to assign the privileges for Datasources, directories, and Queries. When the corresponding privilege is enabled, the user is allowed to:

 

Basics

CreateDS

create new data sources

MountDismountDS

mount or dismount existing data sources

RenameDS

rename data sources

CustomizeDS

add additional fields to data sources (user-defined columns) or enable/disable the Multiple sample status for the data source

ModifyHistoryMode

enable or disable History mode

ModifyHistoryComment

edit the entry (only if this user created the history comment)

ModifyProtectionMode

enable or disable the data source protection

ModifyDSAvailability

control the data source availability

 

Directories

CreateDIR

create directories

DeleteDIR

delete directories

RenameDIR

rename directories

CopyDIR

copy directories

MoveDIR

move directories

LockDIR

lock directories

UnlockDIR

unlock directories

ModifyAccessGroupsDIR

modify the access privileges for a directory

 

Queries

CreateQRY

create new queries and save existing ones under new names

DeleteQRY

delete or overwrite queries

ModifyQRY

modify queries

CopyQRY

copy queries

MoveQRY

move queries

ExecuteQRY

execute queries

 

 Tip:

A query is always executed as soon as it is edited. Therefore, in order to create and modify queries, a user must have the ExecuteQRY privilege in addition to the CreateQRY and/or ModifyQRY privileges.
